Our Corporate Responsibility is underpinned by our vision and values. It sets out our approach to the environment, sustainable and transparent business practices, and community development.
Playing an active role in our communities is also integral to our culture and all colleagues are encouraged to get involved, with paid volunteering leave available to colleagues across the Society. We want you to get out and share your talents whilst learning from the experience of helping others.
Hundreds of community groups, clubs and organisations nationwide have benefitted from our Grassroots Giving initiative. It’s close to our hearts as we give funding to allow those groups that may struggle to gain funding elsewhere to grow and flourish. We run a separate Charitable Foundation to help registered charities too.
We all have a responsibility to our environment and we are very aware of our individual impact both within the business and in our local communities. Our extensive recycling programme allows us to recycle over 90% of our waste and our commitment to driving down our CO2 emissions and constant monitoring of our energy use ensures we are monitoring and eliminating wastages wherever possible.
